Smash and grab burglars arrested

On 11/21/13 at 0244 hrs BCSO deputies responded to the Zip in Foods #11 in Leefield in response to an alarm at that location.  It was determined from video footage that two suspects had attempted to gain entry into the store.  Minutes later, Cpl Travis Tuenge was patrolling other stores and discovered the alarm going off at the Clito Store in the 5000 block of SR 24.  The door to the Clito Store had been shattered and the store’s cash drawer removed.  Investigators processed both scenes for evidence and were able to recover video showing the suspects’ vehicle.

On 11/22/13 at 0000 hrs BCSO deputies responded to the Stilson Country Corner located in the 8000 block of US 80 E in response to an alarm activation at that store.  Deputies again discovered the front door smashed and a cash drawer taken.

Later in the day on 11/22/13 investigators were contacted by a citizen who stated that he had found one of the cash drawers on Floyd Clark Rd off of SR 24.  Investigators canvassed the area for any vehicles matching the one driven by the suspects and discovered an identical one nearby at a residence in the 3000 block of Deer Run Rd.  Investigators received consent to search the residence and located items taken from the Country Corner burglary.  Further interviews led to the arrest of 21 year old Denzail Jerrico McBride (Deer Run Rd Statesboro GA) and 20 year old Dejuan Jamal Jackson (South Foss St Statesboro GA) on two counts of Smash and Grab Burglary and one count of Criminal Attempt to Commit Smash and Grab Burglary.  Both McBride and Jackson are held pending further judicial action at the Bulloch County Jail.
