On 1/2/14 investigators working with the US Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Taziha Burnette, 22 yoa of Jonesboro Ga, in Clayton County on various charges connected with the 12/25/13 attempt by Tahjz Irving to escape from the Bulloch County Jail. Burnette was identified by Sheriff’s investigators as being the individual who cut into the fence of the Bulloch County Jail and damaged a window in Irving’s cell during the escape attempt.
Burnette was booked into the Bulloch County Jail and charged with Assisting a Person in Custody to Escape, Crossing Guard Lines with Prohibited Items, Criminal Damage to Property 1st Degree, Interference with Government Property, and Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime. She is held without bond pending further judicial action. Irving has remained incarcerated at the Bulloch County Jail charged with Criminal Attempt to Escape, Interference with Government Property, Criminal Damage to Property 1st Degree, Making False Statements and Writings, Crossing Guard Lines with Prohibited Items, and Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime. He also faces his original charges which include Kidnapping and Robbery investigated by the Georgia Southern University Police.
