Patrol deputies arrest burglary suspects

On 8/11/14 at 1345 hrs BCSO patrol deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Oakwood Drive, Statesboro, for a reported burglary in progress.  The complainant observed two black males force entry to the home and called 911 for assistance.  Upon arrival deputies set up a perimeter around the residence, made entry, and cleared the home, finding no one inside.  Deputies then fanned out looking for anyone matching the complainant’s description of the two suspects.

At 1430 hrs Senior Deputy Ross Newman and Deputy 1st Class Devon Deloach observed two black males walking on foot along the railroad tracks which parallel US 301 S approximately one quarter mile from the burglary scene.  The males, a 16 yoa juvenile and 18 yoa Dauntavius Robinson, were positively identified by the complainant as the persons she observed forcing entry to the home.  The juvenile and Robinson were arrested and transported to the Bulloch County Jail where they were charged with Burglary in the 1st Degree.

S/D Newman and DFC Deloach received commendations for observing and arresting these two suspects. Sheriff Anderson thanks them for their diligence and efforts.
