The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office has the capability to conduct much of its’ in-service training in house. The department’s training unit is staffed by one full time Georgia P.O.S.T. certified instructor, who acts as Training Coordinator, and four other Georgia P.O.S.T. certified departmental instructors that also teach classes. All instructors teach in-service classes to Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office personnel on a regular basis to keep them up to date on the latest law-enforcement innovations, court decisions, and skills. Sheriff Lynn Anderson and his staff believe that by conducting regular training classes that deputies will be better prepared to serve the citizens of Bulloch County. The instructors for the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office are also called upon to assist other local agencies with their in-service training, as well as, teaching classes for the Georgia Sheriff’s Association, the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, and the Ogeechee Technical College Law Enforcement Academy.
The instructors for the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office have the capabilities to instruct officers in all areas of law enforcement. These areas include: Firearms Training; Defensive Tactics; Speed Detection Devices (Radar/Lidar); Emergency Medical; the Advanced Air Taser; the Stinger Spike Strip System; Basic Jail Officer courses; and numerous other areas of General instruction.
