On 7/2/14 at 1621 hrs BCSO patrol deputies were notified that shots had been fired at several people in the 100 block of Woodyard Ct, Brooklet Ga. The victims had fled the area to a residence on Railroad Street in Brooklet. Deputies spoke with the victims who stated that Orlando Rock (23 yoa, Pamela Way, Statesboro, Ga) had driven to his girlfriend’s residence on Woodyard Ct, found her ex-boyfriend in the yard speaking with her along with several other witnesses, and had fired shots at the ex-boyfriend before chasing after him on foot. The ex-boyfriend was able to evade Rock and was later picked up and driven from the scene by the other witnesses. No one was injured in the shooting, but there were bullet strike marks on the ex-boyfriend’s vehicle.
As witnesses were being interviewed, they indicated that Rock’s vehicle was traveling through Brooklet at the present time. Deputy 1st Class William Sims was able to stop Rock’s vehicle on Brooklet Denmark Rd and take him into custody. A handgun and shotgun were located in the vehicle. Physical evidence at the scene on Woodyard Ct indicated that both had been discharged. Rock was transported to the Bulloch County Jail and charged with 1 ct Aggravated Assault, 1 ct of Pointing a Firearm at Another, 1 ct Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime, and 1 ct of Criminal Trespass. No bond has been assigned to Rock at this time.
