Over the past several weeks Investigators assigned to the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team investigated the use of forged signatures on prescription pads to fraudulently obtain prescription medications at area pharmacies.  The suspects in this case were essentially “pharmacy shopping”, in other words going from pharmacy to pharmacy in order to obtain prescription medication by use of the forged prescription pads.  The suspects would then sell the medications for a profit on the black market, especially pain medications like Hydrocodone and Oxycontin.  During the course of the investigation, CST members discovered that the forged prescriptions were turning up in the Atlanta area as well.  This enabled CST to reach out to detectives in Metro Atlanta as well as local pharmacists for assistance.  One local individual, Bravura Banks Jr (20 yoa, Statesboro Place Circle, Statesboro Ga), was arrested as he attempted a fraudulent purchase at Rite Aid in Statesboro.  Three other individuals have been arrested in the Atlanta area and other arrests are anticipated.  Banks was charged with Forgery in the 1st Degree and Fraudulently Obtaining a Controlled Substance and was later released on bond.

On 3/27/14 CST members executed a search warrant at an apartment in The Grove Apartments on Brampton Avenue in Statesboro based on sales of marijuana and prescription pills from that location.  Jamaal Mcclearin (22 yoa, Brampton Ave Statesboro Ga) was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Sale of Marijuana, 1 count of Sale of a Schedule IV drug, 1 count of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and 1 count of Giving False Information to Law Enforcement.  David Banks (19 yoa, Brampton Ave Statesboro Ga) was charged with 1 count of Sale of Marijuana and 1 count of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.  Both were booked into the Bulloch County Jail.

On 3/27/14 CST members executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Thomkin Drive, Statesboro, based on drug sales from that home.  Jared Bamberg (21 yoa, Thomkin Drive Statesboro Ga) was arrested and charged with 1 count of Sale of Marijuana and booked into the Bulloch County Jail.

On 3/27/14 CST members executed a search warrant at a mobile home in Eagle Trace MHP on US 301 S based on sales of methamphetamine, marijuana, and cocaine from the residence.   Dexter Adams (27 yoa, Eagle Trace MHP) was arrested on 2 counts of Sale of Methamphetamine, 2 counts of Sale of Marijuana, 1 count of Possession of Cocaine, and 1 count of Possession/use of a drug related object.  Christopher Adams (31 yoa, Eagle Trace MHP) and Daniel Mikell (23 yoa, Eagle Trace MHP) were arrested for Possession/use of a drug related object.  Mikell was also wanted for Probation Violation.  All suspects were transported to the Bulloch County Jail.

Finally on 3/27/14, CST members executed a search warrant at an apartment in The Lodge of Statesboro on Institute St.  Multiple complaints had been received concerning this apartment related to drug sales/use, prostitution, and other quality of life issues. Three individuals, Marie White-Gibson (36 yoa, Miller St Extension, Statesboro), Robert Lee Light (34 yoa, North Foss St, Statesboro), and Keysha Smith (42 yoa, Spruce St, Statesboro) were located in the one bedroom apartment along with numerous drug related objects used to smoke crack cocaine.  They were arrested for Possession/Use of a drug related object and served a notice not to return to the Lodge or face arrest for criminal trespass.  The tenant of the apartment, Donald Williams (58 yoa, Institute St, Statesboro), arrived while the search was being conducted and was arrested for Maintaining a Disorderly House.  All four were transported to the Bulloch County Jail for processing.
