Registered sex offender arrested

Terry Mccollum

Based on the results of an investigation by Cpt Todd Hutchens, Terry Mccollum has been arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.  Mccollum was required to notify deputies of changes in his residence and employment based on a 2000 conviction in North Carolina for taking indecent liberties with a child.  Mccollum changed both his address and employer recently without making such a notification.  A tip by an alert citizen initiated the investigation and resulted in Mccollum’s arrest.  He is currently held without bond at the Bulloch County Jail.  Citizens may view local sex offenders by using the Sheriff’s Office website, www.bullochsheriff.com, or by using crimereports.com and searching Bulloch County.  Citizens who believe that a sex offender is not in compliance with the registry requirements are encouraged to contact Cpt Hutchens at 912-764-1787 or submit an anonymous tip to tips@bullochsheriff.com
